An angry breeze catches the lock. The wind howls. A door slams and you appear before me.

Through the screen door the afternoon sun frames drunken clouds lurching across the sky. Branches fly by and the wind howls obscenely through dying leaves; throbbing like my fainting heart regarding your angry need.

Grass hangs from your twitching eyes like sticks. Your tongue licks lips that are parched desert animals. Funny tribal scars reel across your face. Your lips are laced with stale bourbon fantasies. Slow and soft your hungry eyes regard me.

Smothered twilight mist creeps stealthily through curtained

windows casting shadows over the fires in your skin.

Afternoon shadows touch your face like blinded flies. Your laughing hands reach forward and I am touched and helpless before your lazy smile. Red autumn leaves like laughing whirlwinds dance forward to grab my throbbing cries, huge and foaming upon my eternal blindness.

Elastic heat subsides. Roses without petals rise. Moss drips from lazy trees. The wind shifts disinterestedly in the afterglow; on one leg, they prepare for a storm.

And like the moon you rise, hover over me and smile.

And you are gone.
