Winter dies and spring flies
Black desert snow like silver candles
Waiting feverishly for melting haze of summer
Plucking ripened leaves from golden apples

And racing clouds acknowledge
Gleeful birds gliding naked and mating
Straddled to wet and swooning trees

Tiny frogs call to the summer breeze
Dancing on water sighing soft as breath on stone

And deer come out to lie down in shades
Of drooping grass as foxes  roam gravel roads that
Rise and fall in summer heat

They turn to flee as metal cars roar
And cool mouths smile and

Young hair flies and breezes whip in
Twisted swirls and chasing tails and young girls
Preen and young men coo and metal cars fade

And summer hangs

And lovers retire in thick bushes to
Muss their hair and fold their clothes
Sigh and twist and pass the summer staring
At old men picking garbage

And swallows call and brown ponds splash
And quiet haze gives way to autumn's
Crisp brown empty spirits leaving to move their heads
And strip their teeth, fade quietly, alone

While mothers fume and gossip forms
And school brows lift in autumn breezes
Blowing soft on aimless wanderers
Who wander off to feed the golden
Haze on distant mountains

The glistening silver wind gathers teeth
And rain approaches
Arching its back to send curtains flying
And someone laughs and lovers stand frozen
Like icicles before irate fathers

And raindrops fall and young men flee
And birds fly and frogs sleep and
Foxes burrow and autumn hangs and
Classrooms eyes nod sleepily

And inside tender childlike bodies
Beautiful babies are waiting to be born
