Hi.

My name is Josephine Alma Underwood. I am Bermudian of West Indian descent.

Bermuda is a tiny island, 21 miles long, situated roughly 780 miles off the east coast. It's a lovely, wealthy little tourist attraction in the middle of a beautiful ocean. One can dream there, fall in love there, retire there, die there. However, after 25 years, I found that I could not live there. I needed to get away from "Paradise" and live in the real world. So I emigrated to Los Angeles, California.
Where I've seen all kinds of things. Not so good for the spirit, but great for the writing.

Anyway . . .

The following poems are arranged in groups according to their topic. There's a lot of love here, some romance, a little lust (hinted), a little wistful dreaming. My style is mostly abstract, although the older poetry show a more rhythmic, archaic quality.

My poetry ranges from romantic things to militant. If you return periodically, you will see some of everything. At this site, themes and content change all the time.

I want my poems to be like works of art, to be contemplated, seen from different perspectives, perhaps meaning different things to different people. I always look for a reaction. If I can get you to think, feel, to discuss, or write your own "Secret Scream", I will have done my job.

I hope you enjoy these poems. Feel free to use my Contacts page to let me know your thoughts.

Thanks be to God for his incredible mercies.

And thanks to FortuneCity for hosting this site.

Josie
